Bio
Francesca Paola Montella is an Italian architect deeply engaged in exploring how cities, architecture, and natural ecosystems can coexist and thrive together. She earned her Master’s degree in Architecture with honors from the University of Naples Federico II, followed by a postgraduate Master’s in Circular Architecture from the University of Camerino.
Her professional journey spans boutique studios in Berlin and Rome, as well as leading interdisciplinary firms such as ATIproject and Carlo Ratti Associati. In addition to her design work, Francesca brings expertise as a sustainability consultant. She supports the Green Building movement and is certified as a LEED Green Associate and Well Accredited Professional.
Philosophy
Francesca strives for an architecture that aims to be meaningful and takes into account the complexity of social behavior and its necessity and at the same time contributes to a healthy, sustainable impact on the built environment.
Her work ranges from small-scale product design to larger-scale of neighborhood planning. She has explored the design and application of bio-based and reused materials following the principles of circularity such as design for disassembly, modularity, cradle-to-cradle design, and selective demolition. She has a great interest in designing with the support of digital fabrication, computational and generative design, climate analysis, and data representation.

She considers herself a lifelong learner, in the constant search for improving her personal and professional life to contribute to a kinder and more just way of living.
